EGG SANDWICH (kye-bom)

Kye-bom literally means "fry together ".It is exactly what it sounds like-fried eggs sandwiched together in two slices of bread and toasted in a pan.
Breakfast in a typical
Ghanaian home is incomplete without the sweet aroma of  fried eggs and bread (kyebom).
For the late night workers it is a lifesaver,it is sold on every street corner in Ghana .This popular street snack is enjoyed by both old and young in Ghana.

INGREDIENTS;
  • 4 fresh eggs
  • Spring onion 
  • 1 small size onion 
  • 1 medium size tomato
  • 3 tablespoons of oil (vegetable,sunflower,coconut oil)
  • 4 Slices of bread 
  • Salt
Yield:serves 2persons

PREPARATION;
  1. Wash and chop all vegetables 
  2. Add two table spoon of salt to 100mls of water 
  3. Pour salt water over vegetables and allow to sit for 3 minutes 
  4. Strain water from vegetables and crack eggs into bowl containing vegetables 
  5. Add salt to taste,whisk until frothy
  6. Heat up oil in a frying pan,pour in egg and lower heat 
  7. After 3minutes,flip to cook other side of egg,repeat until both sides are well cooked
  8. Place egg in the center of  one slice of bread,cover with another slice and toast bread in same frying pan
  9. Serve with hot milo beverage or juice .
